Navratri is one of the holiest hindu festival where people from all around the country participate and enjoy. Its the time to come forward into the festivity of Navratri. Durga is believed to be of 9 forms and each having distinct power.
During fasting strictly vegetarian diet is recommended. During Navratri fasting the devotee of Maa Durga avoid eating onions, garlic, grains, wheat and alcohol etc. Grains are avoided because it is believed that grains and wheats attract a lot of negative energies from the surrounding. Therefore it is needed to avoid for purification of Navratri atmosphere. But my friends Navratri fasting need not to be boring anymore. Its time to turn Navratri fasting into feasting. Fast in a healthy way. Ingredients like kuttu atta, singhara atta, fresh fruits and vegetables, milk, yogurt, makhanas and moongphali are . They are preferred as they are light and easily digested.
Sabudana khichdi :
Take a bowl. Put properly drained sabudana. Mix roasted peanuts, salt and chilli powder into the bowl and mix well so that sabudana will well coated with the ingredients. keep it aside. Take a pan. heat some desi ghee. Add a pinch of hing, jeera, sabut lal mirch,and curry leaves.Wait till it becomes a little bit dark. After that add sabudana to it. Mix well and cover with a lid. wait for 10 minutes. In between keep mixing sabudana from time to time. After 10 minutes, take it off the heat and add a little bit of lemon juice and mix well. Garnished it well with hara dhania and green chilli and enjoy the taste.
